Operation Easter Outfit
“In music, in the sea, in a flower, in a leaf, in an act of kindness....I see what people call God in all these things.”
Growing from a project started in 2003, Operation Easter Outfit is proud to have helped over 1500 children celebrate with brand new clothing this past season! Partnering with local organizations, businesses, parishes, and schools, PIO collected the new outfits for children in Chester County and surrounding communities.
A team of coordinators collected and organized the clothing by size and then volunteers participated in service days to gather and package outfits for specific families. Each families' clothing was carefully covered in clear plastic bags. The clothing was organized on wheeled racks and transported by a moving truck to the different facilities for distribution the Tuesday before Easter.
Recipients of these outfits were families serviced by the St. Agnes Day Room in West Chester, CYWA of Coatesville, The Bridge Academy in Coatesville, St. Rocco's Parish, Avondale, St. Anne's Parish, Phoenixville, St. Josephs Parish, Spring City, Sacred Heart Parish, Oxford, and ABVM Parish, West Grove. Additionally, 77 families were serviced in our satellite branch in Dauphin County, PA.
Fox Rothchild, LLP in Exton has consistently supported Operation Easter Outfit
by sponsoring an in office collection of funds and new outfits.
Sorting and preparing the clothes by families provides many service opportunities!
